Hotel Elkin |
Description |
Elkin. Hotel Elkin, built in response to the activity generated by new Hwy 21, opened in May 1925. According to Claire Smith, several townspeople lived there during the winter months because it was warmer than their own homes, and the food in the dining room was very nice. It was run by Charlie Brewer. The Yadkin Valley Bank bought the property and tore down the building about 1968. This picture is in a calendar titled Reflections of the Past. |
